It's fun to take photos through the openings of the stone bridge at the entry of the old town.

This angel prays above a door unnoticed by many tourists.

The birds add some humor to this statue.

The 1^st Yugoslavia was founded in 1918 and included the first 4 countries listed above.

When Axis powers invaded Yugoslavia in 1943, they abolished it as a country until 1946 when the Federal People’s Republic of Yugoslavia came into being (Renamed Socialist Federal Republic of Yugoslavia in 1963). It included all of the countries above as well as two autonomous provinces within the Republic (Kosovo and Vojvodina).

Starting in 1991, the Yugoslav Wars broke the republic apart.

From 1992 until 2003, Montenegro and Serbia (plus Kosovo and Vojvodina) were called Yugoslavia. In 2003 Montenegro and Serbia declared their independence and Kosovo declared a disputed independence in 2008.

Communist Yugoslavia was bordered by 7 countries: Austria, Hungary, Romania, Greece, Albania, Bulgaria, and Italy

The Capital was Belgrade
