Lapad--Cheaper Lodging Near Dubrovnik

If you get to a higher location in Lapad, you can see some great views of the sea and the harbor.

Many people stay in Lapad when visiting Dubrovnik. You can usually find accommodations a bit cheaper than in Dubrovnik and it's only a short bus ride away from the old city. It has one of the nicer sandy beaches in the area, and it may be more desirable if you are traveling by car. This is because accommodations with parking spaces can be a bit harder to find near the old city of Dubrovnik, and accommodations within the city walls never have parking spaces included. Be sure to ask about this if you rent a room near or in the old city and are traveling by car.

We stayed in Lapad in 2007 and didn't have a car but had no problem getting around. Lapad also has a small walking zone, restaurants and shops although nothing to match the charm of the old city section of Dubrovnik.

Many cruise ships come into the Lapad harbor.
