Dubrovnik--A Walking City Full of Shops

The entire city of Dubrovnik within the walls is pedestrian, and the limestone streets shine from the constant tourist traffic. Many of the shops have the same unique half-arch shaped door and window entrances, and shops are everywhere--fine jewelry and art, clothing, hats and swim suit cover-ups, cheap souvenirs, and folk art. They have some interesting things made from the abundant limestone found in the area--votive holders, small boats, crosses, etc. And you can buy small squares of their traditional embroidery patterns which reminded me very much of the Transylvanian patterns I've seen in Hungary and Romania.
